Description
Students in this class will learn basic computer programming in Java and develop their interest in computer programming. The class will cover the following basic aspects of Java programming language: attributes and behaviors of class, inheritance, variables and data types, literal, expressions and operators, working with objects, logic and looping, creating classes and methods, packages and interfaces, exception handling, Java data structures, simple file input and output. Students will learn through interactive approaches during class hours. A class project will be assigned to teams of two-students to provide them hands-on programming practices throughout the semester.
Teachers
Mr. Lishun Wu has twelve plus years of professional experience in software architecture, design and development using Web, Java and SOA technologies. He is currently a senior consultant and owner of Wu Brothers Technologies, Inc. providing consulting services to large corporations such as Wells Fargo Bank, US Bank, Boston Scientific Corp, Express Scripts and Blue Cross Blue Shield. He has taught numerous training classes in software development in Fortune 500 companies. Mr. Wu has an MBA from Carlson School of Management and a B.S. in Computer Science from University of MN.
Mr. John Zhang currently works as a Sr. System Analyst at UnitedHealth Group. He has more than 14 years experience in enterprise application architecture, analysis, design and development with Java, database SQL and Web technologies. He taught programming language for many years. He has Master degree in Computer Science from North Dakota State University and a Master degree in Engineering from Dalian Institute of Technology in Dalian, China.
Mr. Henry Wang has a Master degree of Software System from University of St. Thomas and a Bachelor degree of Electrical Engineering and Control Automation from Nanjing University of Sci. & Tech. Henry have served as Software Developer, Reporting and Data Analyst, Telecom Consultant in China and the States for more than 10 years.
